Dr Ioannis Vogiatzakis is a Full Professor of Environmental Conservation at the Open University of Cyprus (OUC) where he is in charge of the Terrestrial Ecosystem Management Lab (TemLab). Over the years he has held positions and developed research and teaching activities at the Universities of Reading (England), Cagliari, Bologna, Milano-Bicocca (Italy) and Ioannina (Greece). He has been a consultant to international organizations such as UNEP PAP / RAC, UNIDO, and CIHEAM/MAICH. His main research
interests include environmental changes in Mediterranean islands and mountains, species distribution modelling, landscape ecology and systematic conservation planning. He is one of the lead authors to the 1st Mediterranean Assessment Report on Climate and Environmental Change, editor of Mediterranean Mountain Environments by Wiley and chief editor of Mediterranean Island Landscapes: natural and cultural approaches” by Springer. His research has been funded by FP6, FP7, H2020, LIFE +, INTERREG, ENI-CBCMED programmes as well as Ministries and Government agencies in Cyprus and the UK.
